U.S. businesses need a Funding Circle alternative because Funding Circle no longer operates in the United States. It sold its U.S. business to iBusiness Funding in 2024 and now lends only in the UK. For the kind of loan Funding Circle was known for, a multi-year term loan or an SBA 7(a) loan, the closest options are iBusiness Funding itself (SBA 7(a) loans and term loans up to $500,000 through its network), SBA lenders, and banks. If you need money faster or have a younger business, OnDeck, Bluevine, the American Express Business Line of Credit, National Funding and Credibly are the online options to compare. All are covered below, checked in November 2026.
What happened to Funding Circle in the U.S.
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| March 2024 | Funding Circle agrees to sell its U.S. business to iBusiness Funding for £33 million. |
| June 2024 | Banking Dive reports that, as part of the deal, Funding Circle will return its SBA Small Business Lending Company (SBLC) license; iBusiness Funding is described as a division of Ready Capital, which already holds one. |
| July 1, 2024 | The sale is completed. |
| Today | Funding Circle's U.S. page says it no longer operates in the United States and points visitors to its UK business. |
Before the sale, according to Banking Dive, Funding Circle's U.S. business had positioned itself as an SBA 7(a) lender for loans under $500,000. If you have an existing Funding Circle U.S. loan, check your statements and the help pages on Funding Circle's U.S. site for who now services it.
What iBusiness Funding offers today (checked November 2026)
- Products: SBA 7(a) loans through an approved lender network, term loans up to $500,000 and USDA loans for rural businesses.
- Not a lender itself: iBusiness Funding says it is not a lender; loans available through its network are originated by iBF Capital Hub, LLC or other approved network lenders.
- Volume: it reports more than $7 billion in SBA loan volume processed.
- Minimums: not published on its homepage; SBA loans follow SBA eligibility rules plus each lender's credit standards.
Who should look beyond iBusiness Funding
- Businesses that need money within days. SBA loans usually take weeks. Online lenders such as OnDeck and National Funding advertise same-day or next-day funding.
- Owners who want a reusable line, not a lump sum. Compare the Bluevine and American Express lines of credit.
- Younger businesses or lower credit scores. Credibly lists 6+ months and a 500+ score; OnDeck and Bluevine list 625.
- Need more than $500,000 outside the SBA program. Bank term loans and real estate-backed financing can go higher; SBA 7(a) loans go up to $5 million.

How FSE compares options from multiple lenders
Every lender above has its own credit box, and applying to them one at a time takes days and repeats the same paperwork. FSE (Funding Solutions Experts) is an independent commercial finance brokerage that works with 50+ lending partners across working capital, lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, real estate-backed funding and merchant cash advances. You complete one application, and FSE compares what your business may qualify for across those partners, so you can weigh term loans, SBA options and lines of credit side by side on total cost, payment schedule and term.
- No fee to you. FSE never charges the business any fee; FSE is paid by commission from its funding partners.
- Minimums. At least 1 year in business and $10,000 or more in monthly revenue.
- No credit check to apply. FSE's application does not ask for your Social Security number and does not pull your credit. An individual lender may check credit later in its own process.
- No promises we cannot keep. Approval, amounts and terms are set by each lender, and no approval is guaranteed.
If your business meets those minimums, you can apply once with FSE and compare offers from multiple lenders.
