The closest Bluevine alternatives are other online business lines of credit: the American Express Business Line of Credit (660+ FICO, 1 year in business, $3,000 in average monthly revenue) and the OnDeck Line of Credit (625+ FICO, 1 year, $100,000 a year in revenue). Bluevine's line is not open to sole proprietorships, to businesses in Nevada, North Dakota or South Dakota, or to companies under 12 months old, so those businesses need to look elsewhere. For newer businesses or lower credit scores, Fundbox and Credibly publish lower minimums, and if your cash is tied up in invoices or equipment, factoring or equipment financing can be a better fit. Each option is compared below, checked in November 2026.
What Bluevine offers (checked November 2026)
Bluevine is a financial technology company, not a bank. It offers business checking, and its line of credit is issued by Celtic Bank and serviced by Bluevine.
- Line size and price: credit lines up to $250,000, with rates as low as 7.8% for top-qualifying customers and no maintenance fees.
- Repayment: approved businesses are placed on a weekly or a monthly repayment plan, paid by automatic debit. Each draw is subject to review and approval.
- Minimums: $10,000 in monthly revenue, a 625+ personal FICO score, 12+ months in business, a corporation or LLC, no bankruptcies on file and good standing with your Secretary of State.
- Ineligible states: Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota and U.S. territories.
- Ineligible industries include cannabis and related products, financial institutions and lenders, donation-based nonprofits and auto dealerships, among others listed on Bluevine's site.
- Other products: through lending partners, Bluevine also offers access to term loans up to $500,000 with terms up to 24 months, and to SBA 7(a) loans up to $350,000.
If you meet those requirements, Bluevine's line is worth a look, and applying does not affect your credit score, according to Bluevine. The alternatives below are for businesses that fall outside its box or want to compare.
Who should look beyond Bluevine
- Sole proprietors. Bluevine says a sole proprietorship cannot qualify for its line of credit (some sole proprietors with a Bluevine checking account may see partner offers in their dashboard). The American Express line and OnDeck do not publish an LLC-only rule.
- Businesses in Nevada, North Dakota or South Dakota. Bluevine's line is unavailable there. OnDeck also excludes North Dakota, so check each lender's state list.
- Under 12 months in business. Fundbox and Credibly publish lower time-in-business minimums.
- Credit score under 625. Credibly lists 500+, Fundbox about 600 (per NerdWallet), and National Funding says most customers are 600+.
- Revenue under $10,000 a month. The American Express line asks for $3,000 in average monthly revenue, with a higher 660 score.
- A bankruptcy on file or a restricted industry. These are listed exclusions at Bluevine; other lenders set their own rules, so ask before you apply.
- Need more than $250,000 or a longer term. Consider SBA loans, bank financing or real estate-backed funding.

Line of credit or something else?
A line of credit is the right tool for recurring, short gaps: payroll before a big deposit, seasonal inventory, an unexpected repair. It is the wrong tool for a long-lived purchase or a cash gap that never closes. Use this as a quick filter:
| Your situation | Usually the better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Customers pay you in 30 to 90 days | Invoice factoring or invoice financing | Underwritten mainly on your customers, and repaid when they pay |
| Buying a truck, machine or technology | Equipment financing | The asset secures the loan, so terms run longer |
| Strong credit, no rush | Bank line or SBA loan | Usually the lowest cost available |
| Under a year old | Lenders with lower time-in-business minimums, or a secured card or line | Most lines need 12 months of history |
| Urgent need, weak credit, strong deposits | Revenue-based financing such as a merchant cash advance | Approved mainly on deposits, but usually the most expensive |

How FSE compares options from multiple lenders
Every lender above has its own credit box, and applying to them one at a time takes days and repeats the same paperwork. FSE (Funding Solutions Experts) is an independent commercial finance brokerage that works with 50+ lending partners across working capital, lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, real estate-backed funding and merchant cash advances. You complete one application, and FSE compares what your business may qualify for across those partners, so you can weigh a Bluevine-style line against term loans, equipment financing and other options side by side on total cost, payment schedule and term.
- No fee to you. FSE never charges the business any fee; FSE is paid by commission from its funding partners.
- Minimums. At least 1 year in business and $10,000 or more in monthly revenue.
- No credit check to apply. FSE's application does not ask for your Social Security number and does not pull your credit. An individual lender may check credit later in its own process.
- No promises we cannot keep. Approval, amounts and terms are set by each lender, and no approval is guaranteed.
If your business meets those minimums, you can apply once with FSE and compare offers from multiple lenders.
