The right Shopify Capital alternative depends on why Shopify Capital does not fit. If you have no offer in your admin, or the offer is smaller than you need, ecommerce funders such as Wayflyer and Clearco underwrite your whole store, including sales on other channels. If you want a fixed, predictable payment instead of a share of daily sales, a line of credit from Bluevine or American Express, or a term loan, gives you that. And if part of your revenue runs through PayPal, PayPal Working Capital works on the same sales-share model. Shopify Capital's own terms and seven alternatives are compared below, checked in November 2026.
What Shopify Capital offers (checked November 2026)
- Amount: funding up to $2 million, offered in real time based on your store's sales.
- How you get it: by invitation. Shopify's underwriting model decides eligibility, and you see an offer in your admin or by email if you qualify. Minimums include selling on Shopify for at least 90 days and complying with Shopify's Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service.
- Repayment: a fixed percentage of your store's daily sales, paid only on days you make sales. The maximum repayment term is 18 months, and two minimum payments apply.
- Credit: no credit checks and no impact to your personal credit score, according to Shopify.
- Speed: funding in as little as 2 business days if approved.
- Where: select merchants in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. U.S. loans are issued by WebBank.
For a healthy Shopify store with an offer in hand, Shopify Capital is convenient: no credit check, no separate application and repayment that slows when sales slow. The alternatives below matter when no offer appears, the offer is too small, or you would rather have fixed payments or a reusable line.
Who should look beyond Shopify Capital
- Stores with no offer. Offers are by invitation only; if none appears in your admin, Shopify's underwriting model has not found your store eligible at this time.
- Sellers on several channels. If Amazon, wholesale or your own checkout bring in a large part of revenue, a Shopify-only offer may undersize you.
- Owners who want predictable payments. A share of daily sales flexes with revenue, but the minimum payments still apply. A term loan or line has a known payment.
- Businesses that need longer than 18 months. SBA loans, bank loans and equipment financing run longer.
- Repeat, smaller needs. A line of credit lets you draw only what you need, repay and draw again.

Matching the funding to the need
| Need | Option type to compare first | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| A large inventory order before peak season | Ecommerce revenue-based financing or a term loan | Total fee relative to how fast you repay |
| Repeated small gaps between payouts and bills | Line of credit | Monthly or draw fees, short terms per draw |
| Ad spend you expect to earn back quickly | Sales-share financing | Minimum payments if sales lag |
| Equipment, a warehouse fit-out or vehicles | Equipment financing or an SBA loan | Down payments and longer approval times |
Shopify Capital offers both loans and cash advances, and a merchant cash advance is a purchase of future sales rather than a loan; read what a merchant cash advance is and how much a merchant cash advance costs before comparing a flat fee with an interest rate. For how deposit-based funders size an offer, see what revenue-based financing is. If you sell on more than one platform, our PayPal Working Capital alternatives and Square Loans alternatives guides cover those programs, and the business line of credit guide covers reusable credit.
How FSE compares options from multiple lenders
Every lender above has its own credit box, and applying to them one at a time takes days and repeats the same paperwork. FSE (Funding Solutions Experts) is an independent commercial finance brokerage that works with 50+ lending partners across working capital, lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, real estate-backed funding and merchant cash advances. You complete one application, and FSE compares what your business may qualify for across those partners, so you can weigh a Shopify-style sales-share advance against lines of credit, term loans and revenue-based financing side by side on total cost, payment schedule and term.
- No fee to you. FSE never charges the business any fee; FSE is paid by commission from its funding partners.
- Minimums. At least 1 year in business and $10,000 or more in monthly revenue.
- No credit check to apply. FSE's application does not ask for your Social Security number and does not pull your credit. An individual lender may check credit later in its own process.
- No promises we cannot keep. Approval, amounts and terms are set by each lender, and no approval is guaranteed.
If your business meets those minimums, you can apply once with FSE and compare offers from multiple lenders.
